Manual & Q&A How to use

RewardDash is not a "task manager." It's a time-attack dashboard where you set your work hours and rewards first, then compete to finish early and create free time.

01 The basic flow

1
Setup: declare today's terms

First pick an activity type (Work, Study, Chores, or Custom) and enter your planned hours and start time. Then build a reward ladder—decide what you get for each block of saved time (add or remove tiers freely). The ladder is saved and reused on later days.

2
Dashboard: stack tasks and clear them

Register a task name and duration (minutes) to start the math. Only the "one to do now" is shown large in the center. Tap the card (Enter/Space works too) to complete it, and the next task rises up.

3
HUD: track remaining time live

Earliest finish = current time + remaining task total. Today's buffer = scheduled end − earliest finish. The bigger the buffer, the higher up the ladder you reach. Fall into an overtime pace and the rewards dim and glitch in order.

4
All clear (GTFO): claim your reward

Clear every task to reach the finish screen. It calculates the time you actually saved and shows the reward tier you reached. Brag on X in one tap. Adding tasks is locked on this screen.

5
Next day: results and reset

When the date changes, look back positively on yesterday. Choose to "carry over" or "archive (discard)" leftovers. After confirming, you return to a fresh setup.

02 Frequently asked questions

Q. Where is my data stored?
Only in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to a server—everything stays on this device.
Q. Can I sync across devices or browsers?
No syncing. Data is kept independently per device and browser.
Q. What if my time estimates are off?
That's fine. They're just a guide for pacing. Watching the gap helps you sharpen tomorrow's estimates.
Q. Can I change the rewards myself?
Yes. In the setup reward ladder you can freely edit, add, and remove each tier's threshold and content. The defaults are generic examples—rewrite them to fit your life.
Q. Can I do another round after finishing (twice a day)?
Use "Start a new session" on the all-clear (GTFO) screen. Reset the start time and planned hours to run as many rounds a day as you like (e.g. work in the morning, study in the afternoon). The reward ladder carries over.
Q. Can I use it for things other than work?
Yes. In setup you can choose Work, Study, or Chores, and Custom lets you set any activity name (Making, Training, etc.). The wording adapts to it.
Q. Why do the rewards go dark?
It's a warning effect signaling you've entered a locked-in overtime pace (negative buffer). It visualizes the free time being shaved away and nudges you to catch up.
Q. Why can't I add tasks on the finish screen?
To preserve the sense of achievement, it's intentionally locked for that session. To keep working, reset with "Start a new session."
Q. I want to wipe everything and start over
Use "Erase data and reset" below to return to setup anytime.
New Day — a fresh day

Good morning.

The date has changed. Look back on yesterday's record and reset for today.

What makes REWARD//DASH different

Not a task "manager"—a time-attack design where you declare your hours and rewards first, then race to finish early.

Earliest finish and today's buffer are calculated in real time, so the reward you're on pace for is clear at a glance.

The reward ladder is fully editable per tier—set your own rewards for each threshold of saved time.

Data stays on your device (localStorage) only. No signup, completely free, runs entirely in your browser.

Great for

Remote & work-from-home

Add a deadline feel to WFH days that drift into overtime. The more you finish early, the closer your reward.

Exam & certification study

Declare your daily study load and visualize your pace. The reward of free time keeps you focused.

Blitzing through chores

Turn cleaning, laundry, and cooking into tasks to clear in a row—motivated by the free time you free up.

Focus days for making or side gigs

Use Custom to name any activity and manage your pace while watching your buffer to the deadline.

Privacy

Every task, reward, and setting you enter is stored only in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is ever sent to a server or shared externally. Erase the data to return to the initial state anytime.
