🪄 Use cases

School festival food stands

For stands that cook to order. Pickup board mode lists the numbers that are ready.

Event reception & help desks

Hand out numbered tickets and call people in order. Add a counter name and it announces "Number 12, please come to counter 2".

Small shops & food trucks

Instead of buzzers, show the number on a tablet or TV next to the register. Pair it with tickets from the Voucher Maker.

Waiting rooms

Parent–teacher meetings, info sessions and community events — show the queue with just a laptop and a TV, no dedicated machine.

🔒 Privacy

Numbers, the heading and settings are stored only in this browser (localStorage) and are never sent to a server. Syncing with the display window uses BroadcastChannel inside your browser and never goes over the internet. Spoken announcements use your browser's built-in Web Speech API; depending on the browser and OS, the announcement text may be processed by that vendor's speech service.

❓ FAQ

How do I separate the customer screen from the control screen?

Connect your computer to the projector or TV and set the display to extend. Press "Open display" at the top to open the customer screen in a new tab, drag that tab out into its own window, move it to the projector and go fullscreen (F key). When you press Next on the control screen you kept, the display changes at the same time. Syncing only works within the same browser on the same computer.

Can I control it from another phone or tablet?

No. This tool never sends your numbers to a server, so it only syncs between tabs and windows of the same browser on the same device. To run everything on one screen, use single-screen mode: the controls are hidden, the display fills the screen, and small Back and Next buttons stay at the bottom left (on the pickup board, each number also keeps its ×). Press the button at the bottom right or Esc to bring the controls back.

Why is there no sound or announcement?

Browsers don't allow sound until you've interacted with the page, so the first press of Next (or any button) enables it. Also check the volume and the mute button. Announcements use the browser's speech feature, so browsers without it — or devices without a voice for that language — play the chime only. Sound and speech come from the window you operated.

Will the numbers be lost if the page reloads?

No. The current number, the pickup list, the called history and your settings are saved in the browser, so reopening the page on the same device and browser picks up where you left off. To start over, press "Reset numbers" twice. This clears the current number, the pickup list and the called history (Back can't undo it); color, sound and heading settings are kept.

How does the pickup board work?

Choose "Pickup board" under Display style in Settings. Enter a number and press Call (or press Next) and it's added to the front of the list. Once the order is handed over, remove it with its ×. Removed one by mistake? Press Back to restore it. The list holds up to 10 numbers: when it overflows, the oldest number is taken off the list with a notice each time (press Back right away to undo). Numbers called while in "One big number" also join the list and the newest 10 are kept (no notice is shown in that style when one is taken off). The Called row is kept separately from the list: it shows the numbers you've called, newest first, leaving out whatever is shown large on screen (the current number in "One big number", the numbers on the list on the pickup board).

Can I use a keyboard or a presentation clicker?

Yes. → / Space / PageDown calls the next number, ← / PageUp goes back, R calls again and F toggles fullscreen. Type a number and press Enter to call it. Clickers that send PageDown / PageUp work even while the display window is in front.
