Use cases

Passport photos at home

Make a 2×2 in photo at home and print several on one 4×6 in sheet.

Visa applications

UK, Schengen and China visas use different sizes from the US. Pick the document and the guides follow.

Online applications

Save a single photo at the exact pixel size — a 2×2 in photo at 300 dpi is 600 × 600 px.

Retake as often as you like

Take as many shots as you want at home and keep the best one.

Privacy

Opening the photo, removing the background and laying out the print sheet all happen inside your browser, on your own device. Your face photo is never sent to any server. The only network access is the one-time download of the AI model and runtime when you replace the background (from this site, or from huggingface.co and cdn.jsdelivr.net), and it never includes your photo.

FAQ

How do I print the photos?

Save the JPEG and order it as a 4×6 in print (or 5×7 in if you chose that paper) at a photo kiosk, a photo counter or an online print service. Choose 100% with no cropping and turn off auto-enhance, then cut along the lines.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The AI that removes the background also runs in your browser. The only download is the AI model the first time, and it never includes your photo.

Will my passport or visa application accept this photo?

The photo size follows each authority's specification. Head size and the space above the head are labeled "official requirement" when we could confirm the published figure (US, UK, China visa) and "common guideline" otherwise (Schengen). Authorities also have rules on expression, shadows, glasses and how recent the photo is, and some do not accept digitally edited photos, including ones with a replaced background. Check the issuing authority's guidance before you submit.

The printed photo is slightly the wrong size

Printers and print services sometimes enlarge or crop the image slightly. Choose borderless, no auto-enhance and 100% (actual size) again. The inside of the cut lines is the exact photo size.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. You can go from taking the photo to saving the print sheet entirely on your phone.

How accurate is the AI positioning?

It is an estimate. The AI guesses the top of the head and the chin from the width of your outline, so with hair spreading wide beside the face, a hat or hood, or shoulders out of frame, it can mistake the eyes or mouth for the chin and make the head too small (or too large). After it positions the photo, always check by eye that the top of the head is in the upper green band and the chin is in the lower one, and fix it by dragging or with the Size slider if needed.
