Reading images and building the PDF both happen inside your browser, on your own device. Images and PDFs are never uploaded to a server, so you can convert photos of IDs or receipts without them leaving your device. Files are not stored in the URL or in localStorage and are gone when you close the page.

❓ FAQ

Are my images uploaded?

No. The PDF is assembled by a library (pdf-lib) running inside your browser, and your images never leave your device. Once the page has loaded, it works offline too.

Is image quality reduced?

Not for JPEG and PNG. JPEG files go into the PDF byte for byte, and PNG pixels are embedded unchanged. Only formats a PDF cannot hold directly, such as WebP, GIF and AVIF, are converted first: to PNG if they have transparency, otherwise to JPEG at 92% quality.

Will phone photos come out sideways?

No. Phone photos often store their pixels sideways plus an instruction to rotate them for display (the EXIF orientation). PDFs ignore that instruction, so this tool rotates the image on the page by the right amount. Only rare mirrored orientations are redrawn before embedding.

Can I use HEIC (iPhone photos)?

Only if your browser can open HEIC (Safari can). Browsers that cannot, such as Chrome, will show "Could not open this image". Set your iPhone camera to Most Compatible to shoot JPEG, or convert to JPEG when sharing.

Can I make the PDF smaller?

This tool does not recompress images, so the PDF is about the size of the images combined. To make it smaller, lower the JPEG quality or shrink the images with an image converter first.
