Organize PDF (Reorder, Compress, Password)

Reorder, rotate, delete and insert blank pages, then compress, add a password and strip metadata in one export. Your PDF is never sent to a server.

Features

  • Drag thumbnails to reorder pages — with a mouse or touch. ← → buttons work from the keyboard too
  • Rotate, delete and duplicate pages, insert blank pages anywhere, and undo as often as you like
  • Shrink the PDF by downsizing and recompressing photos and scans (3 levels; images that would not shrink are kept)
  • Add a password (AES-256) with print / copy / edit restrictions, or unlock a PDF whose password you know
  • View, edit or remove metadata such as title, author, creating app and dates

Use cases

Fix the order and orientation of a scan

Reorder pages that came out of sequence and rotate the sideways ones, while looking at them.

Make it small enough to email

Compress a photo-heavy document to fit under an attachment limit of a few MB.

Add a password before sending, or remove one for storage

Protect documents with personal data, or unlock a PDF you received so you do not have to type the password every time.

Remove author info before sharing

Clear the author name, internal software names and dates left in the PDF properties.

Privacy

Reading, thumbnails, reordering, compression, encryption and decryption all happen inside your browser, on your own device. Neither your PDF nor your password is sent to a server. Files are not stored in the URL or in localStorage and are gone when you close the page.

FAQ

Are my PDF and password uploaded?

No. Thumbnails (pdf.js), page reorganization (pdf-lib) and encryption/decryption (@cantoo/pdf-lib) are all done by libraries running inside your browser.

Can it unlock a PDF whose password I do not know?

No. It only unlocks PDFs for owners who know the password. You must enter the open password, and removing print/copy restrictions requires the owner password.

How much smaller will my PDF get?

The more photos and scans, the bigger the saving — Standard can cut such files to a fraction of their size. Text-only PDFs barely change because they contain no images. Images that would not get smaller are kept, so you never lose quality for nothing.

Can I merge PDFs or split by page ranges?

Use Merge PDF to join several PDFs, and Split PDF to extract ranges like "1-3, 5" or split into single pages. Both also run entirely in your browser.

Are bookmarks and forms kept?

Bookmarks (the outline), form fields, attachments and accessibility tags are not carried over. Annotations and links to websites on the pages are kept, but links that jump to another page in the document (such as table-of-contents links) may stop working.
